Title: today at the burn
Post by: ishy on December 19, 2009, 09:39:25 am
Jay and I are riding at Diamond mill today, great new trail off cobbmaster, machine made that goes to the top of Diamond mill rd.

We rode the Cedar creek area two weekends ago, I have never seen the trails so clean and well groomed.

Had a total blast today Jay and DeVille (Brian I think, sorry I'm horrible with names)!!! Learned how to get out from underneath a bike as it tried to ride me down that undercut on the trail Jay made from the top side of the new Cobb trail!! Since Jay Terry says he is rarely on here if one of you guys talk to him tell him thanks for walking me through my first n00b day at Diamond Mill (please :) )

Can't wait to go back!!

Kary Krahel and I are putting together a fun/trials practice/trailride this Sunday the seventh of Feb. Meet for breakfast at Mulino's airport cafe, 8:00 am. After we eat, we are planning to drive up to the secret trials playground south east of Molalla, where I used to live. Show up and have some fun with us if you are interested. Jay .

Yes for sure. There are my old practice sections and variations of them, plus bitchen' trails to ride. It's a lovely spot. Hope for good weather.

She's sitting in my garage beckoning to me, and she's lovely and tender as can be. :)

So Jay, is the restaurant just before you get into Mulino, past Karys Freeman Rd? are you planning on leaving the restaurant about 9?
now about the new bike, was it an amicable divorce from the Yorkshireman?
and are the Kermit twins going to be jealous? ;D

The restaurant is past the Mulino store on the right if you are headed south. Will head out when we finish breakfast, not exact on time.

Ishy was inclined to accept my offer, thus ordering a 2010 Sherco 2.5. The Hodakas are very friendly to other trials bikes. Only the new 125 Wolverine is a bit cranky and tried to take a bite out of the new Sherco, so it was set in corner for everyone's saftey. .

Let's do it again Saturday Jay-man!! Gotta get some more practice in and that is an excellent practice ground for this n00b. Thanks again for the invite, hope Kary doesn't forever hate me for having to follow my slow arse around all day!! :)

BTW did Bill live through the last ride??? He looked pretty beat after the first three legs of the four (I know I was!)...

I think we thrashed on Bill twice more after that! We finally got him to throw his arms up, and exclaim, "I'll be at the truck!" and then we paraded the poor lad around the forest for another half an hour to head back "home". Poor Bill was still a really good sport about it all, and I'm sure he had fun. Saturday I will have a prior engagement to deal with, and I need more time to recover, wash, and maintain three bikes. Glad you had fun. Mike Perrotti is crying for someone to ride at Kary's on week nights. I suggest you get a hold of him. He owns Black Cat Plumbing I think it's in Oregon City.

Alright, so overall are you happy with the new 09?? Seems you were doing pretty well on it! Course I never saw you tossin' the 03 around so.....

Do you have any contact info for Mike?? I'd be interested in riding during the week if Kary was cool with it. I'll try and find his info too.

Thanks,
Devin

So far the 2009 Sherco 2.5 is everything I hoped it would be. I am sure it will do quite well. Mike's work number is 503 788 0300

Thanks. Does Kary's place have lights or is it a pre-dark kinda place?

I wouldn't want to try any of those sections in the dark. No way. It's damn hard in the daylight.
