Thank you Duane and Sue! This was truly a fun event! Great sections, great friends, great food! A great day indeed!
That sloppy joe recipe has bar-b-que sauce in it I think? Wow that was so good!!

Paul Endres has done a bang up job of making a fantastic trials event yet again. The loop, sections and general atmosphere were top notch as always. There were even brats cooked over a wood fire, with buns, and all the fixin's, and a strider bike trials for the little kids. It was fantastic! Well done to Paul and everyone who helped make this event great!
I cannot for the life of me understand how such a thriving, well run event could pass by with no fanfare. Ironic to me that we have no results, or news, or photos. It's like we're trying to keep trials a secret. Well I am but one voice in the wilderness, who is stoked about trials, and believe that I am not the only one. You can blame politics or whatever you want, but there is no real excuse for such an incredible lack of effort to report the news.
I recommend highly that if you are interested in trials, that you don't let this lame web site stop you from attending one of the coolest sports ever. The trials world has always been somewhat underreported, but the current apathetic approach is shameful.
Thank you again to Paul Endres for all his hard work and dedication.

I have to say I am loving this response! The pics are so neat! I will be continuing the saga of my trip to California, very soon.

Thanks or noticing, Dave. Really it seemed like I was just annoying everyone (again). Since almost no one ever posts on this forum, I was hoping to idk, liven things up a bit. There are almost no COTA members left who remember 1976. I really cherish those of you who do.  I might just finish it after all, and when I do, I will e mail it to you directly.

Yes, Jay. I feel the pressure. Now it remains to be seen which one of us will blink first. Makes for a exciting end of the season. Last year I rode with the flu, and felt like I was on another astral plane. The whole event felt very much like a dream. I hope this year I feel better on boxing day weekend. I will need to have my stuff together for sure. See you then.

I have them. I am planning to attend. If that's not soon enough give me a call. 503 651 2224

Does the boxing day trial pay cota points? If so for which year? Trying to figure out if attendance is mandatory or optional.

Thank you so much to all the riders and family support folks who showed up! Heidi and I feel good about the event, and are pleased to have had such a good turnout. A huge thank you to Dan Harris for tirelessly working to carry out what was needed, and Karli Ditmars for helping to set up sections in the rain, and my wife for cheerfully taking care of sign up and scoring! It was a team effort. Hope to see you all again soon.

We spent the day out at Dallesport this past Sunday. It's dry there, and there's some tall grass so we must be careful with fire. The news said it will be spotty rain sowers and cooler. This should make for some good conditions for trials.  The rocks are as awesome as ever. I hope folks can make it out. It should be a good day's sport.

Please join us for a trials event out at Dallesport, October 12th. Heidi and I  invite everyone to enjoy camping Saturday night, the 11th. We are planning to enjoy some campfire, guitar, and good company. Please come, and bring your friends who are interested in trials, or just to camp and have a good time! You can get ahold of me at 503 651 2224 if you need to ask questions, or e mail me at laeljay@yahoo.co.uk
The usual deal at Dallesport is $30.00 to ride the event, as $5.00 per rider goes for land use fee.

Thanks for doing that Mike. The points event at Connel was epic. I can't for the life of me, figure out why so many have missed this great two day trial. Our own Kary Krahel decimated the old man's class on Sunday with 12 points on the day! I tried to keep him honest with a third on Saturday and a fourth on Sunday. I got a coffee cup, to add to my whole pile of three coffee cups I've ever won at Connel in my entire life. Ya' gotta' love that! Also note that Kevin Krahel won the expert class on Saturday, over Luke Matlack and a whole tribe of other hungry coffee cup hunters.

Glad to hear from you Tom! I think about the old adage that Ricky Carmichael has said, "Championships aren't won on your good days. They are won on your BAD days!" This also holds true in the endeavor to thrive and enjoy trials, even when they are hard. This was a challenging event, and anyone who got through it at all should feel proud.  Well done Kirk! It was a blast! Honorable mention to Ken Levens, who did quite a bit of the work, and rode damn good, placing third in Expert support class.

Most dealers don't stock trials specific clothing or helmets. What size are you? I have a shoei trials helmet, size large you could try on. My hat size is 7 1/4. You're welcome to try it on some time if you wish.  I wear size 34 pants and size large jersey. I recently purchased some really nice trials gear on E bay. It's called edge and is very nice. The stretchiness of the pants is better for mobility, but not too good for protection. If you plan on crashing allot, just go the a local bike shop and try on motocross pants and shirt. This stuff is not nearly as fashionable, but will protect you more, and probably last longer. It really depends on what you are looking for. Invest in some really good knee and shin guards! They will always be a good thing. My favorite is call AXO tmkp, which stands for total movement knee protection. It covers the top part of the knee, where most do not. Good luck, and we'll see you at Ishy's trial on November 10th. JL
