Jay,

Very nice! Hope to see her in person some day!

Jay, I have not seen that many DNF's in a while!

Ya, I ran out of talent at the National, that's the first time that I have missed a day of work from a Trials injury in 47+ years of riding. Broke my collar bone and scapula, 5 ribs in 9 pcs. Needed surgery on the ribs, 23 screws and 4 plates, they went in from the back. Guess I am a delicate flower? Doing pretty well now, but still not 100%. I started riding again in Dec. so that is a plus. My Wife Michelle is a Saint for taking care of me and putting up with me!

Jay,

Thanks for posting those results! Great to see you guys getting some events in. Looks like a good turn out and everyone got their $'s worth by the look of the scores! I am looking forward to making it back up to the NW to ride again and try to redeem myself after last year at Diamond Mill !

I kind of expected to see at least a few posts on the forum with you all having a little time on your hands? Hope you all are doing well and staying safe and healthy and getting to ride at little while "social distancing".

I did have an observation - Jay Terry pretty much invented Social Distancing many years ago. Such a trend setter.

Anyone checking the results to see how COTA hero Dennis Sweeten is doing in the Scottish Highlands this week? (He is doing well)
6  General Category / Events / TrialGP Kingman AZ - COTA member shocks the world! on: July 31, 2017, 01:41:00 pm
Folks - if you have not heard, Kylee Sweeten made history this past Sunday in AZ as she became the first US Woman to win the new Trial2 Women class. Check out the link below with photo of her on the podium!

If you were not there then you missed a great Trial in a beautiful venue.

Good memory Mike !! The Sara-taco was awesome. Sherrell did several Trials schools & I remember that bike. I was always too young to participate but was a sponge and watched.

Farley Schwantes had an XR75 and we competed together in the mini class in 72-74.

I need to dig out some of my old photos, scan them in and figure out how to attach.

Good fun !

Awesome photos ! Pretty funny looking back at those, Jay and I had an interesting sense of fashion.

JL, I thought it was awesome, thanks so much for sharing. Even though I did not have a drivers license in 1976 I am an old fart now but still remember those days, the cool bikes, riders and stories. I can't wait to read the rest of your story, hope you post it again and complete it, you tell a great story and there are plenty more I would love to read.

The great thing about a forum like this is if you don't like it or it does not interest you - no problem, just move on. Seems like there is so little traffic on the forum these days that it should not be an issue.

Plenty of great stories about the old days, folks like Jay Terry, Kary Krahel, Kevin Krahel, Mike Wirth, Kent Zimmerman, Duane Rinkes, should have a few good stories saved up. Over 30 years of epic stories just waiting to be told !

Ishy, who would play Jay in the movie ? Neil Young could play Jay by the camp-fire singing and playing guitar but I am not sure about Neil's Trials riding skills ?

Am I the only one that saw the beginning of the epic Jay Lael story, got hooked and was waiting for the next chapter ? Now it has vanished into thin air - ??

Ishy,

I might attend if it payed 1981 COTA points.

That pesky B.Skreen was very good back then. I might like to come out of retirement if I could improve my standings that year. (please dont tell B.Skreen !)

Very cool ! Our family was there, Dad rode his 247 Montesa Cota and think I was riding the 100cc Bultaco Lobito

Love the entry fees,

Tragic -

Met Jim for the first time in about 1973  at a Trial in Mosier OR, he made a 247 Cota look like a mini, then I saw him ride a 50cc Cota before the kids trial - awesome.

God Bless
