Sounds like he has motorcycles running through his veins. I think his family has been involved with the Tillamook for many years and he will be a great addition to the ODF team for maintaining its recreational future.

Hi Everyone,

Below is a note from Clyde Zeller regarding the new OHV Specialist on the Tillamook District.

Hello, I am very pleased to announce the transfer of Reid Brown to the Tillamook District Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Specialist position from the Roads Unit position effective December 1st .

Reid graduated from Oregon State University in 2012 with a degree in Recreation Resource Management with a minor in Forest Management. Reid has been an active motorcycle racer since 1995. In 2013 he qualified to represent the United States in Europe in the International Six Day Enduro. He is an active member of Oregon Motorcycle Riders Association and a regular trail work volunteer in Tillamook State Forest.  Reid’s racing career has allowed him to ride the majority of the OHV areas in Oregon and Washington and he has traveled widely to off road areas across the country. Reid has extensive contacts in the off road community including local trail clubs. Reid  has completed training for operating the Single Track 240 trail machine which is the primary trail maintenance machine used on single track trail. Reid also received on the job training on the Marooka rock hauler.

Reid worked in the Tillamook Recreation Unit as temporary worker the summer of 2012 performing fee collection, forest patrol, public contact, OHV rule compliance, and sign installation. Reid’s current position, NRS1 Road Specialist, has also given him background and experience with road project work layout, costing, and contract administration along with using ArcGIS for mapping and data collection.

Reid’s phone number will be the same as Dave’s 503-815-7024 and his e mail is reid.a.brown@oregon.gov

Please join me in welcoming Reid to the Tillamook District Recreation Unit.

The old and the new: Dave and Reid. We are lucky that Reid filled Dave's rather large shoes.
