Daryn, thank you for the kind words. I went lurking on your face book and saw that you will be forwarding the patience and knowledge you have learned to that goodlooking minnie me, Mason. and your picture looked just like you, only all grown up. Congratulations on your success in the Navy. mike

General Category / General Discussion / Awards, discussion for banquet

Well the year end awards are all ordered and will be done this week. I’ve been doing all the awards, except when marshals that have wanted to make special ones for their event, since 1996. I’m sure some people like the little tags I have made up and some don’t really care but the main reason I went to just them, rather than one being attached to a generic bike trophy, was that it saved the club at least eight dollars per award. I tried to make them sometimes whimsical reflecting either on the event or the good natured trials marshal making sure the place and date were always on them. Not everyone in the club knows but due to some medical issues, not mental as some may suggest, I will not be able to ride competitively any more and therefore will not be attending most of the events during the year. This does weigh heavily on me since I have been riding trials for 46 years, never being that good but enjoying it immensely. So……. With the many new faces at the events I have been to and our old stalwarts someone may want to take over the job either using the old formula or with a new eye on it, something different and better. Just wanted to put this out there before the banquet so everyone could think about it, and it doesn’t have to be just one person doing it, some good friends could team up and make it really easy. See you at the banquet.
Sincerely mike wirth

This event is what Trials and friendly competition is all about, I didn't compete but had a great time watching everyone do their best and help their friends, new and old, overcome some well thought out sections that keep getting better every year. Paul and his wife are a great asset to this club.

This is going to be a perfect weekend according to the weather service, I hope there will be a good work party turnout. Ride, build sections and enjoy this sport while you can. Some day when you wake up you may never be able to do it again, I know.

Front page Trials Central,http://www.trialscentral.com/, a couple stories and video of one of the best Trials riders in the sport who just passed away several days ago, scary I'm just 1 month older than he was. I met him several times, once when he and Dougie were staying with Ishy. He had a lot to do with influencing the riders of our generation.

There are more oldies under Jay Lael epic story, of which I should have put the pics here but we all started talking about the old times and so they are there, Dave Pyle should have had enough time to figure out how to use a scanner by now, I'm sure his mom and dad had plenty of pics from these times. Now if we just had the picture of Tanner Krahel skinny dipping in the mud puddle.
