I want to give a word of "Thanks!" to the Krahels (hope I spelled that correctly..... ), and everyone else that helped at today's ride! It was a really fun event, and to a Toad like myself, a Great Challenge. I appreciate all the hard work y'all put into this event, as well as the work anyone puts into the other events that we're lucky to be able to ride. Thanks, Y'all! Also, I've gotta give credit to the riders I was lucky enough to observe. The Advanced folks, the Expert Support guys, the Experts, and the Champs are some really incredible riders. I'm amazed at the level of talent there is in our club. The things you "upper class" riders can do on your bikes is really amazing! Also, to Dave Wertsch: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for the the spot on advice to "Look ahead to where you wanna go; not in front of the front tire"..... Things like that are HUGELY appreciated by me. Something so basic..... Thanks, Dave! Jimmie Doh! Sorry I misspelled your last name, Dave! I fixed it..... And again, Thanks for your help!!!

And indeed it was a good fun ride today, Brian!
Many thanks to you for putting it on, and to "The Estes Boys", Ken Levens, and all who helped lay out the course. Nice weather, and some challenging riding for those at my level..... Thanks again!

On questions like this (Which oil and/or gas is best?), you'll get a huge variety of opinions. Mine is probably no more valid than any others, but here goes....... Personally, I like to run non-ethanol premium for gas, and a good synthetic (I use Amsoil) oil. I used to run a mix of 4 gallons of pump no-eth premium, one gallon of VP race fuel, and my oil at 80:1. I lowered the compression on my bike, and now simply (and much cheaper-ly.... ) run the pump fuel. When I was buying the race fuel, it was $12.00 a gallon. I dunno what it goes for nowadays..... Trials bikes typically have a healthy compression ratio, and I felt the mix with a small amount of race fuel was a good safeguard to keep it from pinging. I've never used an octane booster. so I can't speak to that, Pilotsolex. Non-ethanol fuel seems to stay "fresher", and hold up better when being stored, than normal pump gasolines. I've never felt the need for a stabilizer with non-ethanol fuel. In my wife & daughter's little XR/CRF 100s, I have way fewer problems with the carbs plugging up pilot jets when they sit for months w/o being ridden by using non-eth gas. I also drain the float bowls to help that, as well....... www.pure-gas.org has a list of stations that sell non-eth fuel, listed by the state. There are other websites with similar lists; just type in "non-ethanol fuel stations" at a search engine, & it should get ya some help. Jimmie

I'd do everything I can to be there, John! I like the event you had earlier this summer; felt you did a Great Job, & had a lotta fun! Plus, your place is a really good place for folks who don't ride to get to easily see the sections (the "spectating" thing....)! Jimmie

Now that I've had a chance to dry out, I wanted to give a big shout out to Paul Enders & his crew for putting on this Trial event. Bill & Brett E., Dick & his dog, and everyone that helped needs a huge "Thank You!"! This event was run in some pretty soggy conditions, and the folks in charge still made it fun!
Daniel B.-G. put on a great school! Thank you for soing that, Daniel. I am so impressed with what a great young man you are, and was grateful to get to attend the school. It's also cool to get to see a National Caliber rider, as well. Man, do I have a huge respect for you Experts, Champs, & higher skilled riders!
Personally, I felt I rode like a "Chump" rather than a Novice, but had fun. There's something about riding in those kinda conditions that make me think, "well, I probably won't score well, so I'm just gonna have fun".....
I did have fun! Thanks Guys!!! Jimmie
