I was wondering if anybody had or knew of a good starter bike, you know, what every body wants, cheap and reliable.  My brother in law thinks he wants to try getting a trials bike.  I am thinking the budget is probably in the 2 - 2.5k range.  Let me know if you know of any thing available.

What a great weekend!  Massive props and thanks to Max and Paul for putting together a tremendous two day trial.  I know there were alot of other people involved, setting up, scoring, clearing sections and marking loops, that deserve thanks as well.  The group scoring was a great idea that really helped save the weekend for alot of riders.  Again, thanks to every one involved.

I'll second that. Thanks to John for putting on a great event at an awsome site.  Also thanks to the members of this club for welcoming a complete newbie to your ranks.  My first event went well thanks to the help from the members on hand.  Look forward to seeing you all again at the next event.

Thanks for the response.  I was mainly concerned with helmets as they can be a crap shoot if you don't try them on.  Shape and sizing varies so much from brand to brand.  Hopefully I will see you on the 10th, everybody say a prayer to weather gods for a nice day. CC.

Just picked up my first trials bike this summer and didn't take long to figure out that my full face off road helmet was too heavy and hot.  I was wondering if there were any dealers in the area that carried any trials specific riding gear, especially helmets.  I did buy a cheap open face helmet that is better than my full face one but it is not designed for trials, still heavy and not well ventillated.  I don't like buying riding gear without trying it on first so online purchasing is not ideal.  Just wondering if there were any places within Portland or Seattle areas that carry trials specific gear.  Thanks.
