I've got a spark arrestor for the Gas Gas. But I'm wondering if I need one of those other passes (NW Forest Pass, I think they're called), whether I camp there or not? Anyone know about this? Thanks!

As far as I know we do not a NW Forest Pass  - but I'll do some checking to be sure.
You DO need your ORV or "OHV" sticker on your Trials bike though. You can get one through most motorcycle dealers - make sure to bring your bikes Serial Number with you as you will need it.
I think they are 10 bucks or so.

Thanks, Dave!!!

I guess I was a little confused by something I read, somewhere, on the web (most likely at a National Forest website....), or heard from somebody....

I live about 1 mile from the MHNF (Mt. Hood National Forest) building in Sandy. They no longer sell the NW Forest Passes there. The Ace Hardware store in Sandy does sell those passes, but they weren't certain if I needed one for where the trial will be held.

I've seen a list of places (campgrounds/day use areas) where those passes are required within the MHNF, on some website, somewhere, but can't recall where. I'm not certain if the area where the trial is held has a proper name, but "The Place Where The COTA Trial Will Be Held On Lolo Pass Rd." wasn't on the list, so I'm gonna figure it's not needed.......

According to the lady at the office in Sandy, we will not need a NW Forest Pass for where the trial is held, so that further makes me not too worried about that. She did mention that we should stop by the office a Zig Zag to check on whether we could have fires & such.....

But I can't say "Thanks!!!" enough for reminding me about needing the state OHV sticker. I'd clean forgotten about that, and really appreciate you reminding me/us of that! Thanks again, for that, and all your other help!!
