New Michelin Trials X Light Tire now available at Bent Lever Motorsports

The new Michelin Trial Light has been designed following requests from riders and bike manufacturers to reduce the weight of the tyres to suit four-stroke machines.
Developed with the world’s leading riders, including Toni Bou – Montesa, Adam Raga – Gas Gas and Takahisa Fujinami – Montesa, the new Trial Light offers a reduction in weight over the Trial Comp while maintaining all the performance attributes of these multiple championship winning tyres.
As in the new XC motocross tyres, the new Trial Light uses Michelin’s MCP (Maximized Contact Patch) technology to improve grip on a variety of difficult surfaces.
The new front tyre features a redesigned bead wire which improves seating on the rim and reduces tyre movement, even at very low pressures. This translates into improved precision and enables more accurate tyre placement on obstacles.
The rear tyre has a reduction in the amount of rubber between the casing plies and an increase in the length of the sidewall plies. The result is a weight reduction, a more supple tread area, a larger contact patch and increased sidewall rigidity. The benefits to the rider are better grip on loose surfaces, improved hold on rocks, better lateral stability in the transition from rear tyre balancing to the next obstacle and a faster vertical response when hopping.
In terms of weight reduction, the Trial Light X rear tyre weighs 5,320g which is 510g lighter than the Trial Comp X11 and the Trial Light front tyre weighs 3,390g which is the same as the Trial Comp despite the redesigned casing.
