New guy wants to come play

So I want to come over the hill and ride some events with you all this year.
What do I need to know? Not sure how often I will be able to get over there.
Diamond Mill is my old stomping ground and I have never riden a Trials bike there so its high on my list!
Also would like to check out the Dallesport spot looks like fun.
Do I need to join AMA or COTA or to enter an event?
How much is entry?
What are other requirements...still getting my bike sorted so dont have any trials specific gear yet.
Anything else???

I live in Hood River.  We have been practicing at dallesport just about every weekend.  It would be great if you could come this weekend and practice but if you can't, our first event is Feb 27th in Dallesport.  Not much of trials gear necessary other than Trials boots which are softer and allow you to control the bike better.  Just show up and we will take care of the rest.

Cool I used to ride around HR a lot too! Love the ST up around Bald Butte.
Dont think I will be able to make it this weekend have some prior obligations for Saturday.
Are the directions to the site pretty accurate on the main page?
I may be able to come up the 27th...gotta check with the boss.

Anyone have any Hebo Boot straps? I scored a nice pair on CL the other day super cheap but they are missing 4 straps!!
