I went to the Woodland Enduro-X today, and happened to see Max Nelson there. He rode, and won, the Open Am class. He rode a nearly flawless race, and led it wire-to-wire, I believe.  Here's a youtube link to a short collection of clips I made at the race:

Max, and others, I hope you'll forgive my crummy film making & editing. Also, I "muted" the sound on the first 20 seconds or so, because you could hear my yelling something stupid like "Screw it on, Max!!!!". I've got to learn to keep my big mouth shut..... At any rate, Great Job, Max! Congratulations! That course looked pretty tough in places to me.

Man, Max, I'd imagine it gets ya pretty tired on that course! I know it would've beat me down pretty quickly....

Was it kind of a combination "little bit of moto with a lot of Intermediate line trials" kinda stuff? At any rate, you handled it well....

You had great speed there, Max. I mean, you lapped several folks in your class, no one was any sorta "threat" to you that I could see..... And speaking of classes, did I get your class correct? Did you ride Open Am? I got to thinking later that you were on a 250F, and therefore maybe rode a 250 Am. class?

i rode the open amateur  i probably could of ridden the expert class on the enduro cross but they kicked my butt at the moto so i guess its a trade off.
they set it up to be about an intermediate to advanced trials section obstacles but the trick is learning to go fast over them and not make mistakes, which takes a lot of practice Smiley

Dang that looks like fun. How often do they have races there? I think I could get into that! Have just the bike for it too!

It was the first time they've ever had the Enduro-cross there, Woodsrider. It was part of a 2-day weekend deal called the NW Triple Crown. I believe it had Moto & Flat track on Saturday, and more Moto & the Enduro-X on Sunday. I suppose a guy could probably show up just for the Enduro-X race, if he wanted to, if they have one again.

Woodland doesn't normally run this late (July) in the year, mostly due to not having a lot of water there. Steve Corrie (the guy who built the track) got a couple of water trucks to show up for this deal, & I've been kinda wondering if he can make an event like this happen again. According to Mercine Blaisdell (her & her Husband Jim own the track; daughter Tina pretty much runs it now...), they didn't have the turnout they were hoping for. There were a LOT of differernt types of dirt events that weekend, so riders were spread out all over the northwest. Personally, I thought this type of even would go over great in the fall, but we'll see how it goes. I get to see the Blaisdells a bunch at family functions, as I'm related to them. I'm hoping they'll try to have another Enduro-X again..... I thought they're fun to watch. It's probably a good thing I sold my old KTM 300, or I'd have tried to ride that deal...

Dang bummer about the low turn out. They need to promote that a lil more. I think it would blow up!
Im thinking that would be "almost fun" on my KTM200xcw. Grin
